RECRUITMENT FALL ’26

Our Application Process:

RHA believes in open access to student leadership. We operate on a fully democratic, peer elected model, with no prior government experience required. Every elected role is a full academic year commitment.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

UC Berkeley On Campus Residents Only: You must currently reside in on-campus housing to participate.

Unit Specific Leadership: You are only eligible to run for the position to represent the specific residential unit where you currently live.

THE ELECTION PIPELINE

  • Step 1: Single Position Application | Select the specific yearly role in your residential unit that fits your strengths and submit your application.

  • Step 2: ResLife Vetting | On campus residency in your specific unit and candidate eligibility checks are conducted in partnership with Cal Residential Life.

  • Step 3: Speech Night | Address your hall neighbors to share your platform, answer questions, and detail your goals for your living community.

  • Step 4: Campaign and Student Vote | Drive outreach within your hall. Residents vote for candidates in their unit via an official ballot, with top vote getters securing office for the year (3 to 5 Representatives elected per hall, Co Presidents permitted).

Before Applying:

  • Candidates are encouraged to review the specific duties of each Hall Association position. Further details regarding past projects and executive branch functions are available on our leadership page.

  • Candidates may attend scheduled RHA information sessions or sign up for individual coffee chats. Coffee chats serve as a dedicated space to ask specific questions about the application process, candidate eligibility, or role expectations.
